ABOUT US

League of Legends Amateur Series or LAS is a low to mid elo tournament series that provides North American players the opportunity to play in a LCS "like" environment. The LAS games and events are all held on Sundays.

Heat

Heats are a set of games scheduled to be played in a single evening.  Teams can expect to play 1-3 games or a best of three (Bo3) series on a Sunday evening.  Times may vary.

Schedule

We offer a Clash like experience of playing games and seasons in "heats" over a four month period. The league is formatted in a way to not burn players out with a lengthy season grind.  After the heat is over there can be a one week break before the next heat if the scheduling allows for it.  We do try our best to avoid scheduling our heats on the same weekends as Clash.

Seasons

Seasons are designed to be short and intense.  There are 2 Seasons in a calendar year.  The turnaround time between seasons can be expected to be one month.

Players Allowed in the LAS

Platinum players and under can participate in Tier I while Gold and under players compete in Tier II divisions.  See the Rules page for further details on rosters and player requirements as we use a checkpoint and point system.

Competitive Integrity

The LAS accepts all teams from Silver to Platinum.  We have broken the LAS into 2 tiers.
We have Tier I and Tier II.

All divisions sends teams to the LAS Grand Tournament.  Top teams from each division can be matched up against each other.  This is setup like worlds.  Divisions with different skill ratings will be placed into a single tournament like worlds.

This competition is not affiliated with or sponsored by Riot Games, Inc. or LoLEsports.

FORMAT

Pre-Season Open

This is open to any team member of the LAS or nonmember teams.  We use this tournament to allow teams to prepare for the upcoming season and help place teams in the correct division if they wish to join the LAS. We also use the Pre-Season to allow the LAS staff to review any rule changes from the previous season. Teams will be randomly drawn into a fixed bracket. The bracket games are played as a best of ones (Bo1).  These rounds will be broken into heats. Teams can expect to play 1-3 games in a given heat.  A maximum of 16 teams is allowed.

Divisions

These are designed to "act" like regions.  Divisions try to consist of eight (8) teams that compete in a short regular season. The regular season is broken up into six (6) heats that teams will compete in the best of ones (Bo1).  The top four teams from the regular season will advance into the divisional playoffs.  These teams will be seeded one-four based off of regular season standings.  The divisional playoffs are played as a best of three (Bo3).

Grand Tournament

This tournament is designed to be like LoL Worlds.  Teams must complete in a LAS division and do well in the divisional playoffs or gauntlet to qualify for the Grand Tournament.  The Grand Tournament consists of LAS divisional teams randomly drawn into groups.  Top teams from the groups will be placed in a fixed bracket format.  The bracket games are played as a best of three (Bo3).  Changes to the format will be considered as the LAS team and divisional counts change.

Note that Tier I Divisions send 4 teams to the Grand tournament where as Tier II teams only send 2 teams.
